Admission Criteria

SolBridge International School of Business seeks motivated individuals from diverse academic, economic, social, ethnic and geographic backgrounds. Students at SolBridge are expected to bring diversity and experience to the classroom. Acceptance to SolBridge will be evaluated on a case by case basis taking into account the student's academic records, personal essay, extra-curricular activities, work experience(where applicable), phone interview and letters of recommendation.

Admission is selective and students are urged to apply as early as possible to ensure sufficient time for application review, visa application and preparation for the move to Daejeon.


Admission Requirements

Academic Record

In order to evaluate your academic capability, SolBridge will need to review secondary school or college academic transcripts (undergraduate applicants) or Bachelor's degree transcripts / mark sheets (graduate applicants), standardized English test scores (TOEFL / IELTS), and external examination results if applicable. Only original or validated documents will be accepted.

Sufficient English Language Proficiency

It is essential that applicants possess sufficient English language proficiency to ensure successful completion of courses. For speakers of other languages, official results of either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)will be required. SolBridge's Test Code for TOEFL is 5980. Undergraduate applicants who provide TOEFL scores of at least 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based or 79 Internet-based or an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0 and Graduate applicants who provide TOEFL scores of at least 570 paper-based, 230 computer-based or 88 Internet-based or an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.5 will be considered for regular admission. Scores lower than these may qualify for conditional admission. In such cases, students will be required to take additional English language courses.

Sufficient Financial Support

All international students must provide proof that sufficient financial resources are available to support them during their first year at SolBridge. The resources will be either personal resources or financial aid from SolBridge or a combination of these. The Korean Immigration Service will also require this same proof.

Personal Essay and Supplemental Documents

All applicants are required to write a personal essay which gives you an opportunity to tell SolBridge more about yourself, your interests, achievements and motivation for choosing SolBridge. The essay is considered an important element of the admissions criteria; students are urged to be concise but thorough in their writing. If you have work experience, you must submit a summary of your experience or provide a resume.

Letters of Recommendation

Undergraduate applicants should request their teacher, guidance counselor or other school officials to submit one Letter of Recommendation as part of the application. Graduate applicants should submit two Letters of Recommendation provided by people who can assess the student's academic or professional background (a professor or job supervisor).
