Student Services
The friendly Student Services staff are on hand to assist with course selection, fees payment, application materials, and answer any questions regarding studying at SolBridge International School of Business.They also provide advice regarding health cover; visa renewals-if students are extending their study at SolBridge; information and advice on Orientation; further study and accommodation; assistance in adjusting to life and study at SolBridge; and help in resolving problems which may impede successful completion of study programs. The University also has a grievance policy and trained officers to assist in resolving disputes.
Resources
SolBridge has a number of resources available for students to
assist them in gaining an excellent education while enjoying their
time in Korea and at SolBridge.
Refreshments. Towards the end of the corridor of the classroom floors in the SolBridge building, there are vending machines that dispense hot tea, coffee, cocoa milk and soft drinks.
Lounges. There are a number of student lounges in the SolBridge building where student can sit, relax, read or study. Some of these lounges also have computers with Internet access.
Phones. You can buy KT phone cards to make local calls or if you desire more freedom, you can buy a pre-used cell phone (pre-used for a cheaper option) and buy international calling cards to make long distance calls.There are payphones in the lounges of the classroom floors of the SolBridge building.
Library
SolBridge International School of Business has a well equipped library on campus for its students. Students however also have access to libraries on other campuses.The SolBridge Library currently has 467,969 books covering a range of topics like. With 10 librarians, there is always help at hand to help students find information on any area of study.
Other Services
There are 16 computers with high-speed Internet access available to students. Students may also print and photocopy material for reference free-of-charge. The library also has a multimedia room, seminar room, meeting room, book cafe, reading room, study room for students to practice making presentations and to read or studyHealth and Fitness
SolBridge believes in "a healthy mind in a healthy body". There are services both on and off-campus that are available to students.On Campus
Health. SolBridge International School of Business has a small sick bay area, and there are Qualified First Aiders on campus. During office hours, there is always someone available to assist in an emergency.Fitness. The SolBridge International School of Business Learning Complex contains a five-storey sports complex. It includes a health and fitness centre, swimming pool, sauna, basketball court and table tennis tables. Most of the new dormitories have fitness equipment in the building.
Campus Security
The Republic of Korea is one of the safest countries in the world and enjoys one of the lowest rates of crime.In most student towns, like Jayang-dong, it is generally safe to travel around at any time-day or night. While many people do not speak English fluently, most locals will be willing to help and assist in an emergency.
Since your safety is SolBridge's paramount concern, all campus buildings and most dormitories have closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the entry points. Security officers are stationed at important locations and patrol the campuses. Should you need any assistance or feel threatened at any time, alert one of them.
Housing
SolBridge International School of Business provides accommodation and meals for all students in one of its many dormitories. Students are expected to stay in the dormitories, for the duration of their studies unless special circumstances occur. Generally, students will be expected to have their meals at one of the SolBridge cafeterias. In some cases, students might elect to cook their own meals in the dining hall kitchen, which are available in only some of the dormitories.
Dormitory
There are separate dormitories for male and female students. Undergraduate students are housed at the dormitories that are close to the Woosong Technical College Main Gate.Graduate students are provided accommodation in the International Student Dormitory in Daejeon-NURI Hall if they prefer.
There is a shuttle bus service provided for students staying at dormitories to travel to the campus. The shuttle bus time-table is displayed on the notice boards of the dormitory and SolBridge building.
All dormitory rooms are partially furnished. Basic furniture including a bed, a closet, and study table are provided, however bedding is not. There are no single rooms available in the dorm. The dormitory rooms are either doubles or sleep four. If you wish to share with your friends, please write their names on the dormitory form. Study lounges, bath and shower rooms are situated on each floor. Students are expected to clean the shower rooms after use.
Self-Service Laundry. The laundries can be found on each floor.You will need to supply your own laundry detergent and fabric softener.
Internet Access. Students can access the internet in the study rooms at all times at no charge.Dining
Good wholesome food is plentiful and cheap in Korea. Students staying in dormitories can opt for a meal plan during their stay there. This meal plan covers three meals a day, seven days a week.Most of the buildings on campus have cafeterias and/or small shops where students can buy snacks, sandwiches and drinks.
Besides a regular fare, the Sol Cafeteria has a daily special selected from different cuisines. You may have Thai one day, Korean on another. The Sol-Sai snack bar on ground level has a range of sandwiches, pastries, juices, colas, coffees and teas. Sol-Korean Restaurant has a range of dishes, and the menu is updated every semester. You can also enjoy a nice glass of wine there.
Off-Campus Dining
There are many small restaurants around Daejeon for Korean Food. There is food to suit every taste. Areas like Eun-Haeng Dong and New Daejeon have plenty of larger restaurants serving a range of menus from Eastern to Western cuisines-like Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Pakistani, American, Italian and even French food.Activities
SolBridge International School of Business would like all students to have an enriching, enjoyable time on and off campus. There are many things to do and see while in Korea and at SolBridge.Students are encouraged to participate in as many activities as study schedules would allow. Participating in school functions and joining some of the clubs, will not only help you develop new skills but also provide a great opportunity to build a network of friends.
There are many leisure facilities available both on and near the campus. Fitness centers, gymnasiums, museums, science parks, hiking trails and more are available near the campus.
